Well, I finally did it. I bought my first digital SLR camera. I couldn't afford the camera I wanted, (Canon's EOS-1Ds Mark III,) so I bought the best I could afford: The Canon Rebel XTi. I like Canon cameras. I already own two Canon SLRs, the EOS IX Lite and the Elan IIe, so I won't have to invest in any new lenses for a while.It's only been two weeks, so I'm not ready to do a full blown camera

Last weekend, Llama and I took a short holiday and went to Crater Lake. One of the perks of living here in Oregon is the proximity to this truly awesome, natural lake. It takes about 2-1/2 hours to drive down, if the traffic is light, so it makes a great two-day getaway.On Monday afternoon, we hiked up the 1/4 mile trail at Sun Notch. On the trip to and from Prineville we drove by way of Highway 242, perhaps better known as the "old" McKenzie Highway. Tall Bearded Iris with Columbine I love living in Oregon! There are so many places to go, both near and far, that give me an excuse to shoot off a roll or two of film. While most of my excursions follow paths and trails into the more remote areas, searching for sights not easily found, occasionally I wander a more beaten path. Weekends always seem too short, and our weekend in the watch tower at Fairview Peak was no exception. In spite of the wind, it was a cozy weekend away from the our regular routine. Our weekend at Fairview Peak did not result in the spectacular sunset or sunrise pictures I had been hoping for. My husband and I had been up on the tower twice before, but neither of us remembered just how windy it is up there.
